Project Horror Tales — 4.0.1.3 Part One Is Live
Update 4.0.1.3 Part One is out now.
This update builds on the foundation we’ve been working on for weeks. The save and player systems are stronger, multiplayer communication has arrived, and survival got a big upgrade.
🟢 What’s New
💬 Multiplayer Chat
Text chat is now in the game.
Whisper another player with /w name message.
Messages are rate limited, and typing a command that doesn’t exist now tells you so.
🛡️ Roles
Owner, Admin and Moderator tags now appear in chat.
Roles are checked on the server, so they can’t be faked from a client.
👁️ Players and Servers
Names now appear above players’ heads.
The server browser no longer shows 0/250 when people are online.
Time of day stays in sync for every player.
Server-side save backups protect player progress.
A Steam identity fix keeps your save tied to the right account.
🟡 Fixes
Respawning keeps your gear and position, even after logging out.
New players’ saves are written before their first death.
Opening a corpse’s backpack shows that body’s contents and no longer touches your own.
The Axe can be crafted again.
Old trees were removed and the foliage reworked.
🔵 Survival and Gear
A full day and night cycle.
9mm and M4 ammo and magazines.
Reusable water containers that now hold +150, plus drinkable water spots across the map.
New ways to get raw meat.
A starting pack for new players.
Survival stats now decay at a new rate.
The action bar now runs 4 to 9.
🗂️ Menus
A refreshed main menu with a Discord button.
Save and Load buttons were removed from the in-game menu.
🚧 What’s Next: Part Two
Part Two is already in development. It focuses on server administration tools, moderation, player protection and more building and base options. Features like the map system, voice proximity chat and character skins are still planned, but may arrive later as development continues.
